Mayfield's JV squad came to Stow and the bulldogs finish the season with another win in a tight 4-3 contest. Dan Breon went 5 2/3 innings and Mike Rogers finished up the other inning and a third. On a bases loaded one out situation Mayfield had set the defense with the infield in, Corey Walker Gets a key base hit up themiddle and splits the ss and 2nd baseman for a 2 rbi single. Great finish guys!!

Our goal was to get to 20 wins this year we only came up short due to a rain out.

1-1 vs Solon
2-0 vs Garfield Hts.
2-0 vs FALLS!!!!

18-6 overall and 7-3 in the division!
I want to thank all of the players I have been able to coach throughout this season. And the future is very bright for Stow Baseball. Thank you all!!!

Garfield Heights Traveled to Stow and finished up the series the way it started getting shelled! In and Great offensive performanced the JV dawgs produce 16 runs and go on to win 16-5 in 4 1/2 innnings.

17-6 and 6-3 in the Valley Div.

The Freshman Dawgs won a 10-0 decision vs Garfield Hts. at home on tues. Making the season Talley 16-5 7-1 in the Valley div.

The JV dawgs went to Garfield Heights and Hammered out a 10-1 victory bringing the JV record up to 16-6 and 5-3 in the Valley.

North Canton Hoover came to Stow for a double header and was in control in the first game with a 8-0 lead in the first inning. But the bulldogs come all the way back to win this one 11-8. The bulldogs also take the lead in the second game and lose the game late with the tying and winning runs aboard a diving line drive catch saves the day for the Vikings. As the freshman split the double header. Bringing their record to 15-5 on the season.

The JV dawgs goto Mayfield and drop a tight one to the Wildcats 3-1. 15-6 and 4-3 in the valley.

JV Dawgs struggled to take advantage of opportunities. After a 3 hour wait for the game to begin at 6:20, The JV squad looked flat. Losing 2-1. bringing the JV record to 13-5.

The Freshman completed a sweep of Copley on Saturday 12-2 and 11-8. The freshman are 6-0 in division play and face Mayfield this week in a 2 game series to put the freshman in the driver's seat for the valley division freshman title. 14-3 overall (6-0 in valley)

The JV Dawgs traveled to Copley High School this weekend and started off a little rough through four innings we were down 1-0. Then in the top of the fifth Mike Rogers hit a 325 ft. shot over the left field wall and that tied the game at 1. After that the flood gates opened the rest of the day as the JV dawgs went on to win 8-1 in the first game and 17-3 in the second game. Mike Rogers went deep again in the second game same place same distance for 3 more RBI's finishing with six rbi's on the day. Ryan Damschroder had a double and 2 singles in the second game along with other multiple hit players. The sweep of the Indians brings the JV dawgs record to 15-5 overall (4-2 in valley)

Freshman finish the sweep of the Comets 8-2. Raising their record to 12-3.
5/7/08
JV dawgs went to Solon Tuesday. Going down to the wire, bases loaded for Solon in the bottom of the 7th inning with no outs Stow up 5-4. Ryan Damschroder Pitched his way into a great save!! Grounder to short which came home for one, a bunt pop-up to Yurkschatt flying behind the catcher for out number 2, and a strikeout to save the game. Great finish. JV dawgs are 13 -4. Next up the Wooster Generals come to Stow.

Mon/Wed continuation game finished up wed. 5-2 was the score coming in to the game wed. On a 2 run homer by the clean up hitter in the top of the 7th made the score 7-2. JV Dawgs wouldn't stop fighting, scoring 4 runs in the bottom of the 7th bring it to 7-6 with a runner at second, a pop fly to short ended the rally. dropping the JV Team to 12-4.

The freshman DAWGS blewout the Comets on monday 14-0. Bringing there record to 11-3 on the season.

JV continue to roll on versus Firestone Falcons tonight. In an 18-2 romp at home. Home Runs by Dan Ciccantelli and Ryan Yurkschat. Lots of hits for everyone. Now to get down to the home stretch of the season...On to Louisville doubleheader at home on saturday. First Game time 11am. JV record 12-3.

JV Dawgs were at home for the series finally versus Falls, and the bats came out smoking!!! Stow came with 9 batters in the first and 6 in the 2nd for a 6-0 lead after 2. after 5 it was 9-1. Falls couldn't figure out Joey Peretta as he got the start and went six, Ryan Damschroder came in 7th and shut down the tigers. Ryan has faced 8 baters in 2 appearances and struck out 6 of them. The final was 10-3. For the series sweep. Nice job!!! 11-3 is the JV record now.
Firestone Falcons at home tomorrow.

Freshman complete the sweep of Falls with a 6-2 decision as Jason Mcpeek pitched and held the tigers at bay. Great job freshman!!! they move to 10-3 on the season.

JV dawgs went to Falls and played a tight game through 6 innings tied 1-1 into the top of the 7th, Mike Rogers got on via the walk stole 2nd. A fielders choice moved him to 3rd base then on a 2-0 count Jason McPeek bunts a perfect bunt between 1st and the pitcher Rogers scores and Jason was safe. Pitcher got rattled and gave up a couple of walks and base hits. Final 4-1. JV moves to 10-3.

The Freshman dawgs hand the Black tigers a loss in a 9-1 desicision. The bats were hot and solid defense shut 'em down. Freshman move to 9-3 on the season. Black Tigers at home tomorrow.

The JV dogs went to the Northern Ohio Baseball Complex...and wow, what a field and facility. And also would like to thank the folks from St. Ed's for the between the game meal that was provided. There were lots of hits early in both games for the Dawgs. Turned out good in the first game as we won 6-5. Great pitching by Branden Giaimo, Aaron Stefanov, and Danny Breon to finish it out.
Then There was the second game....we jumped out 5-0 in the first inning...then the well ran dry...St Ed's chipped away as the game progressed then a couple of key errors cost us some runs, and in the bottom of the 7th with the game winning run at 3rd a base a hit up the middle won the game for the Eagles 6-5.
so now the JV Dawgs are 9-3 overall.

Next up the Black Tigers!!!!

The Freshman Dawgs hosted the St. Ed's Eagles in a double header also saturday. Things didn't go to well as the Eagles hit the ball very well. Freshman lose the first with an 11-4 count. In the second game St. Ed's took the lead, Our bulldogs had a big inning with 7 runs, but wasn't quite enough as the eagles complete the sweep with a 11-8 victory. The Freshman dogs slip to 8-3. next up FALLS!!!

Freshman Dawgs Traveled to Edison Field and took care of business over St. Vincent. Avenging the earlier loss from the same team. 12- 8 was the final. Freshman now 8-1

The JV Dawgs lost in a matchup with the Warren Harding Raiders today 7-1. Stranding 6 runners and a couple of errors helped contribute to the loss. JV slips to 8-2. Next up St Ed's Double header Saturday.

JV Dawgs at home today for the 2nd game of the Hudson series, and the order of the day was pitching. Heinsel for Hudson was lights out! on a 76 pitch complete game performance, Our bulldogs spread out only 5 hits. With and RBI single by Dan Deleandro, and also a RBI single by Corey Walker was all we could scrap together. We had alot of contact outs and only 3 strikeouts on the day. Sometimes you just have to give credit where credit is due. JV dogs fall 6-2 and suffer the first loss of the season putting the record to 8-1 . Next up the Warren Harding Raiders at home.

Freshman boys went to Hudson this evening and picked up another win. Coach Sabatucci said " Hudson just wouldn't go away" they scrapped but the offense provided to much for the Exporers to handle. Dawgs 7-4 winners on the road, improve to 7-1 on the campaign.

The JV dogs Traveled to Hudson ready to play. This was a meat grinder. Dan Breon had a fine outing with 5 innings pitched 6 k's no earned runs. Branden Giaimo finished the 6th and 7th with 3 k's. Bubba Shay with a single and RBI in the first, Marc Graham with a ground out to short RBI in the 5th, and Mike Rogers with a RBI single in the 5th was all the scoring they would need. JV dogs up to 8-0 on the season.

The Freshman had a Home game in the first of 2 vs Hudson. Ryan Yurkschat pitched 5 innings, Ryan Damschroder had a 3 run Home run, Jason Mcpeek with a 2 RBI double and the freshman dawgs went on to knock off the Explorers 12-8. Putting the Freshman record up to 6-1.

The Freshman Team Faced the Aurora G-men this morning at 10 a.m.
Ryan Yurkschat pitched a complete game and also hit a home run in a 12-1 win. Bringing the freshman record to 5-1. St V's canceled the second game. Now it's time to get geared up for Hudson.

The Freshman team got out on top of St Vincent St Mary's 8-0 and was doing fine until the error's began piling up. And in the end the Freshman Dogs lost 12-8. Freshman team 4-1
4/15/08
As the bus went to Brunswick tuesday everyone new that we were in for a tough game. Blake Williams got the start and a good start it was, with a complete game 9 K and no walk performance, it was enough for the offense to scrap together 3 runs against a good Blue Devil pitcher. Our JV dogs only had 3 hits all day but 1 was a 2 run Home run over the right field fence for Jason Haba 2nd HR in 2 games. The other run was scored on a RBI by Dan Ciccantelli in the 3rd. The Blue Devils scored 2 runs on a double and two errors in the fifth. The Bulldog JV leaves Brunswick with a tight win 3-2. and Brings the JV record to 7-0 on the season.

Phil Ellisen got a start on the JV team on Monday afternoon and did well for the 2 innings he pitched with 5 K's, but at times stuggled with control and ended up leaving with a tweaked shoulder. Aaron Salwan came on in relief and pitched fine giving up just 2 runs over the next 4 innings. Mike Rogers finished out the game. Jason Haba hit the first Home run of the season deep to right and touched 'em all. the hits just kept coming in a 14-6 win. Bringing th JV record to 6-0.

Just when you think a kid couldn't get any hotter with the bat here comes Vince. Mr Nervo continued his hot streak with three more consecutive hits against woodridge making it seven in a row. In this game vince had six more steals so They might have been sick of seeing him on the bases because his next at bat they hit him. Nonetheless Branden Giaimo threw six innings and Bubba Shay finished off the 7th as the JV went to 5-0 with a 11-3 win!

The Freshman moved to 3-0 with a win over woodridge 5-2. Ryan Yurkschat went over the center field wall at Woodridge High. Nick Furlong went 5 innings 2 hit 8 k's no earned runs Tyler bedillion pitched the 6th and Jason Mcpeek closed out the 7th.

In a rematch with Tallmadge soph. Jason Haba threw six innings and Cory Walker finished the seventh inning and held tallmadge to three runs. Vince Nervo had the hot bat and 4-4 with 2 singles, 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 2 runs scored, 4 steals. JV now 4-0

Soph. Mike Rogers Threw a no-hitter against Lakewood and the JV dogs scored three in the fifth inning to beat the Lakewood Rangers 3-0. Moving th JV record to 3-0.

The JV Bulldogs beat the Patriots 14-4 (2-0)
The Freshman Bulldogs also won their contest with Valley Forge 11-1 (1-0)

The JV squad traveled to Tallmadge and took on the Blue Devils. And our Bulldogs didn't dissappoint winning 4-0. Lead by a fine pitching performance from Blake Williams with a 1 hit shutout, along with a RBI single in the third. Others who were big contributors were Jason Haba 2 for 3 with a single and a double, and Marc Graham with a 2 RBI Double in the 2nd. So the JV is 1-0 and travel to Parma Valley Forge on Monday.

Hopefully the fields will dry up and we can play some baseball soon, as for now....we will attempt to play Tallmadge this week and the St V's game this week has been canceled. Stay tuned for further updates.

Final cuts will be made after thurs nights tryouts. Teams will be posted outside the athletic director's office at 2 p.m. All players and coaches will meet in the commons at 3p.m. After which will be Varsity, JV and Freshmen team meetings. Uniforms will be distributed at times to be announced during the team meetings.

Pitchers and catchers report to the lower gym on Monday Feb 25th after school. Remember you must have physicals turned in to the coaching staff if you have not played another sport before baseball.
The $20 card promotion has been extended to february 29th, so sell sell sell. There are alot of great discounts on those cards so if you as a local patron haven't got one find a baseball player or a coach to get yours.

Wow what an upset in the Superbowl! Unreal, the biggest upset in superbowl history. I guess 18-0 doesn't win you a superbowl afterall.
What a great night at the Reverse Raffle!!! Just over 320 people came out and supported last night. Again all of us on behalf of both the softball and baseball coaching staffs, players and administration appreciate the support of our teams. Also Coach Daymon had his eyes on the the ultimate sack all night and was the high bidder until the last minute and was outbidded by 5.00 and the giant Bulldog bag closed out at 245.00. One of the many silent auction items that went last night again Thank You All for your support! GO DAWGS!!!
