4th Annual Boys and Girls State Bowling Tournament
353 Schools started the "09 - 10" season, close to 2,000 kids. To be one of the 16 teams and 16 individuals to qualify for States is very special............ 132 bowlers at the start of the day on what proved to be difficult conditions, at the end of the day, to say you were there is what makes it that way.
After the season we had as a team, a trip to States would have been the ultimate reward. 84 pins is all that kept us from going. So close yet so far away. Our bright spot was that our Freshman Tyler Meredith bowled well enough to earn a trip to States as an individual. Bowling games of 205, 208 and 190=603 Tyler finished in 28th place. Congratulations Tyler on the first of what could be many trips to States.
2/27/10 Stow vs Boys Districts @ Hall of Fame Lanes Canton, Oh (N/A, n/a-n/a)
10th at Districts, Freshman Tyler Meredith Qualifies
At Districts held at Hall of Fame Lanes in Canton, 39 teams bowled to try for that illusive trip to States held in Chillicothe, Ohio this year. Teams from all over the Northeast District all trying to finish in the top 6. Those individuals whose team does not qualify also have a chance to go if they finish in the top six.
Being in or near the top six most of the day, we had two bad baker games that pushed us far enough away to miss our chance, shooting 4,111 and missing by 84 pins and to finish in 10th place. Great job boys........
The one bright spot is that we have our freshman Tyler Meredith that qualified as an individual and will be representing Stow this coming Friday Mar. 5th down at Shawnee Lanes. This will be the third year in a row we have had somone go to States.............

Today was quite a day. There is always some excitement when the "Dogs" bowl. The most important thing is to get off to a good start and with games like 278- Mitch Kline, 240-Tyler Meredith and 234-Chris Eiloo and a first game total of 1081, we took an early lead. Crestwood pulled to within 15 pins after the second game. Our third game had Tyler Meredith shoot a 278, but C'wood pulled to within 8 pins. Both teams knowing the top 3 teams advance, it was a close battle to see who would finish first. Bakers became a see saw battle as C'wood took the lead after the first 4 games. For Stow to pull it out, we finished with a real nice 258 to finish first by 28 pins.

A 3rd Place Finish
What a nice finish. Considering two of our boys were bowling while not feeling very well. We got off to a good first game with the high 1015. Bowling at Roseland, we have found that we never know what kind of shot we're going to have, so it takes a while to find it. Some did......... SR Donny Shallahmer, one of our ill boys, dug down deep and bowled not only his new high game 286, but also managed to roll his highest series 728.(254,286,188) Nice job Donny, hope you feel better. SR Jeff Syme rolled a nice 210 along with SO Sean Thomas 209.
Our boys should be very proud of the season so far and we're looking forward to Sectionals next Sat Feb 20th at Twin Star Lanes in Kent.
Ed, our bus driver watched us bowl for the first time today and commented how exciting it was. I am inviting everyone that hasn't seen a high school match or Tournament to come and support our Boys and Girls Bowlers of Stow-Munroe Falls HS
